POLICE have released a CCTV image of two people they want to speak to following a fire at Harnham Sports and Social Club.

The incident, at around 2pm on May 18, badly damaged the roof of the Parsonage Green building.

The social club partly reopened last Friday.

Following the blaze, investigators from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service concluded it was started deliberately and began on the roof, before spreading to the rest of the building.

Salisbury Journal:

Now, following enquiries by Salisbury CID, they are trying to trace two people seen walking along Netherhampton Road, close to the One Stop Shop, shortly after the fire.

Det Con Toni Nugent, from Salisbury CID, said: "Our investigation has been ongoing since the fire was confirmed as arson, and we are now in a position to release CCTV to see if the public can assist us.

"We know this isn't the clearest CCTV, but we are hoping that it might jog someone's memory.

"We believe the picture shows two boys, one shorter than the other, and one of them is carrying a backpack.

"We know the fire happened a few months ago now, but if people could cast their minds back and think about whether they saw anyone acting suspiciously, or if this image reminds you of two people you know who could have been involved, then please let us know."

Salisbury Journal:

A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the fire and has since been released with no further action.
