COMMUTERS may face disruption after rail workers overwhelmingly voted to continue with their action in an ongoing rail safety dispute with South Western Railway (SWR).

Rail Union RMT today confirmed it has secured "another rock-solid vote" in the disagreement after being "forced to renew the mandate".

Members have voted by 86 per cent to continue with the current action in defence of safety, security and access on SWR.

It is the fifth time that the union has balloted members.

The union’s executive will make a decision on future action in due course.
