A NEW FOREST pony had to be put down after a hit-and-run accident.
The chestnut filly was badly injured in a collision at Longcross, near Bramshaw, and was humanely destroyed by one of the agisters.
The Verderers have released details of two other accidents which occurred in the same part of the Forest.
A cow was injured on the B3078 at Blackgutter and another cow was reported to have been involved in a collision at Bramshaw Telegraph - also on the B3078.
A search was made for the second cow but the animal could not be found.
