A SOUTHAMPTON pub has celebrated its reopening.

The Angel Inn is located in the centre of Southampton just opposite Palmerston park.

It held its official re-opening after the arrival of the new licensee and landlord Huw-Morgan Evans in May.

The 42-year-old is originally from Wales but spent his days as a student in the city.

He has more than 20 years of experience running hospitality businesses in South-East Asia and returned to the UK from South Korea a year ago.

Under Huw’s management, the pub boasts a huge variety of entertainment including quiz nights, live music, interactive gaming, an X-Box One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Wii, as well as assorted board games and student nights.

Huw said: “I am incredibly excited to start my venture here in Southampton and to be able to introduce an exciting new entertainment offer which will have something for every member of the community.

“We have a great roster of events planned for the summer and I’m excited to welcome fresh and well-known faces into the pub.”

As well as computer games the pub’s more traditional entertainment options are a pool table, jukebox, quiz machine and arcade games.

The Angel is dog-friendly and child-friendly up until 9pm and has a spacious beer garden with umbrellas and heaters.

The pub serves hotdogs, pies and burgers but in August will be serving traditional Korean food prepared by Huw’s wife.

The landlord added: “I am passionate about hospitality and enjoy making other people happy through entertainment.”

Punters can enjoy the only ten-foot 4K resolution screen in Southampton which is used to play Fifa19 football tournaments. Both PlayStation 4 games and pool are free to play.
