FIRE crews from Hampshire rushed to rescue a miniature horse which is trapped after falling into a sewer pipe.

The 250-kilogram animal remained stuck in the 1.5-metre pipe for just over three hours while an animal rescuer and firefighters worked together to remove the horse.

The tiny horse has not sustained any injuries.

It took place in the forest along Purbrook Heath Road in Waterlooville.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire crews from Winchester, Brockenhurst and Cosham were called at 9.46am to a miniature horse that had fallen into a sewer pipe.

"The horse is in good health and we are advised by the two vets in attendance that there are no signs of any injuries."

The miniature horse has now been rescued.
