HUNDREDS of Southampton residents will be stumbling through gunge pools, fired at with cannons and pelted with paint as part of a fun run.

The event will be held at Fairthorne Manor, Southampton on Sunday, September 8.

Organised by Naomi House & Jacksplace the 5k Mix Up has already attracted more than 250 runners.

The event is to raise money for the charity which provides respite, emergency and end of life care to children and young people across Hampshire and surrounding counties.

Events fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace, Charlotte Patrick, said: “Anticipation at our fundraising office is extremely high as we countdown the days until our very first 5k Mix Up. The Hampshire Rainbow Run has proved popular over the past few years, so we are very excited to step it up a notch with gunge, foam, bubbles and even more powdered paint! It’s a family-friendly event that’s suitable for children aged five and above, and we look forward to seeing lots of groups of family, friends and colleagues take on this fabulously messy fun run in support of the children, young adults and families in our care."

Entry for the 5k Mix Up is £20 for adults and £15 for children.

The deadline for registration is Sunday, September 2, however late entrants can sign up on the day at £25 for adults and £20 for children.

Entry fees only cover the cost of events so each participant is asked to raise £50 to support Naomi House & Jacksplace.
