COUNCILLORS were on hand to officially open a new residential development in Appleton Thorn.

Warrington Borough Councillor Ryan Bate, Appleton Thorn Parish Councillor Gerry Palmer and Kevin Macaloon from the Neighbourhood Planning Group cut the ribbon and pronounced the Bloor Homes at Hawthorn Grove development open.

The development, close to the historic thorn tree and church, followed prolonged talks between residents and developers.

Cllr Ryan Bate said: “It’s a pleasure to open this Bloor Homes development at Hawthorn Grove, which brings a range of quality homes to Appleton Thorn.

“This comes at the end of many years of planning, between Bloor Homes and the community, to deliver a development which hopes to enhance this wonderful village.”

Warrington Guardian:

James Clark, sales director at Bloor Homes North West, said: “The development is in the beautiful Cheshire setting with easy access to amenities, offering our buyers the best of both worlds.

“Homes here are within easy commute of the M56 and M6 motorways, as well as being close to the village primary schools, church and pubs – making it the perfect place to raise a family.

“The houses at Hawthorn Grove have been designed to blend in seamlessly with their surroundings and after listening to feedback from residents and planning officers, we increased the amount of green space included within the development.”

He added: “With 11 of the houses on the development already sold, we’re expecting the demand for homes at Hawthorn Grove to be extremely high.”

Warrington Guardian:

Bloor Homes is making numerous financial contributions to the village as part of the Section 106 agreement, including more than £450,000 towards primary and secondary school provisions and £57,054 towards improving local health facilities.

A selection of three and four-bedroom homes are available at Hawthorne Grove, including semi-detached, detached and bungalow options, priced between £254,995 and £389,995. They are available to purchase with Help to Buy.
