On Bank Holiday Monday my wife and I drove along the Weston Shore road.
The whole area was packed with local people getting some sea air in their local area.
We both said what a shame it is that Southampton council do nothing to enhance this area and make it clean and tidy for the locals to enjoy.
The grass areas could be cut neatly so picnics could be held as people were trying to do in areas that permitted it.
The concrete kiosks that used to be selling drinks, snacks and ice cream could be re-opened and further parking areas could be made on the other side of the road.
In my childhood this local area was where my parents brought myself and my sisters as it could be reached by walking and cost virtually nothing.
Southampton council need to do something for local people for a change rather than just concentrate on students.
