ENGINEERING works is disrupting rail lines across Test Valley.

South Western Railway (SWR) have planned engineering that will disrupt trains across Hampshire this weekend.

The works include affecting the Romsey to Salisbury line.

Work is taking place on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8.

Romsey, Mottisfont and Dunbridge, Dean and Salisbury lines will be affected on Sunday.

SWR's website states 'We try to keep disruption to a minimum by carrying out engineering works at the weekend or over holiday periods where we can, but this isn’t always possible. If we need to close train lines for engineering works, we’ll provide buses to replace the affected trains.'

This comes as last week Romsey commuters faced four days of rail strikes on SWR lines.

Mottisfont and Dunbridge, Chandlers Ford and Millbrook had no service running through them during the strikes.

Last week, Romsey town centre manager, Mark Edgerley, said: "I am disappointed since we have made a great effort to encourage others to make use of Romsey station and for such an extended period of time there is going to be no service."
