A NEW phone shop has opened in Romsey Town Centre.

Mobile Zone is an independent retailer who also has a shop in Southampton.

The shop sell new mobile phones and pre owned phones as well as doing repairs and unlocks.

Mobile Zone is in partnership with their Southampton store, on Bargate Street and is run by owner Yas Martinez.

The 31-year-old said: "We have had good feedback in the first few days, all of the customers are glad we opened since it is different to other shops here.

"My friend said Romsey was a good place with nice people, and as soon as we saw this unit was open we went for it.

"We offer unlocks, accessories, repairs and upstairs we offer gifts and and home interior design services by Jujo Interiors."

She added: "My partner, Ben, will eventually run downstairs and I will run the upstairs."

Romsey Town Centre manager, Mark Edgerley, said: "We welcome this new business to Latimer Street, Romsey.

"It is a perfect use for this small retail unit that became available a few weeks ago when the previous business closed on retirement of the owner.

"The rapid reuse of the unit indicates the vibrance of our Town Centre and the desire of businesses to move to Romsey."

Yas studied an interior design degree at Solent University in 2016 and now set up her interior design business, Jujo Interiors.

Romsey Councillor, Nik Daas, welcomes the Mobile Zone to the town.

He said: "It is great for the town that will serve Romsey of all ages.

"We no longer need to travel all the way to Southampton to get this service.

"Being a supporter of local businesses, I welcome it to the town and wish them well - I am sure lots of people will use it."

Mobile Zone is on Latimer Street, located next to 'Teacups' and opened on Sunday, September 1.
