THE LIBERAL Democrats have announced their prospective parliamentary candidate for Romsey And Southampton North.

The party have unveiled local businessman Craig Fletcher as their candidate for the next election.

Craig who lives with his wife and daughter in West Wellow, said: "I’m standing to represent the people of Romsey and Southampton North because I want to tackle the very real problems they and our country face at this time of uncertainty.

"If elected I will do everything I can to stop a disastrous no-deal that the Tories are determined to push through at any cost, and then focus on building a Britain that works for everyone."

The current MP for the constituency, Caroline Nokes is one of twenty-one MPs suspended from the Conservative party after rebelling against the Government to block a no-deal Brexit.

The rebels have been told they will not be able to stand as a Conservative candidate at the next election.

According to Caroline, her constituents would be worse off under a no-deal Brexit and their futures mattered more than her own as a Conservative MP.
