EASTLEIGH MP Mims Davies shared her love for fitness earlier this month.

As a former sports minister, she joined successful UK athlete and former wheelchair racer Tanni Grey-Thompson ahead of National Fitness Day, which takes place on Wednesday September 25.

National Fitness Day celebrates being active and will see a wide range of events led by ukactive’s member organisations such as fitness and leisure operators, children’s activity providers and National Governing Bodies for sport.

Eastleigh MP and former Sports Minister, Mims Davies said: “I was delighted to join Baroness Grey-Thompson - who has done so much to promote keeping fit and healthy - earlier this week to promote National Fitness Day, which will be taking place on the 25th September.

"Fitness means something different to each and every one of us, and to me means socialising, enjoyment, having fun and dare I say it looking better. Having been lucky enough to join local people from across the Eastleigh area for the Eastleigh 10k, as well as Park Runs, I know how much local people of all ages and abilities enjoy keeping fit too.

She added: “As Eastleigh’s MP, I’ve also been really lucky to meet with local sporting groups across our area, and earlier in the summer visited the new £8 million state of the art football hub in Monks Brook. I would love to hear how local people and organisations are celebrating National Fitness Day, so please do let me know what you’ll be up to."
