FAMILIES swapped their usual Sunday to put on their firefighter hats at Eastleigh Fire Station.
Flocks of aspiring mini firefighters and police officers attended the open day to learn how members of the service spend their day-to-day careers.
Hose pipes, fire rescue machines, police vans, a plunge activity and several outfit try-ons saw children getting a taste of life working in the emergency services.
Community groups and organisations working closely with the station were also present, including The British Red Cross, The Fire Fighters Charity, Princes Trust, and many others.
Fundraiser for The Fire Fighters Charity Kerry James said: "It is important to hold these events as the fire service work so closely with the community and this gives them a chance to interact. It also helps us raise awareness about our charity."
