A SOUTHAMPTON driver caught speeding on a Hampshire motorway has been slapped with an £870 court bill.
Justin Eddison Tucker, 23, was caught travelling at 87mph on the M27 near Fareham on November 17 last year.
The speed limit at the time for that stretch of road was 70mph – though it has since been reduced to 50mph due to roadworks.
Tucker, of Garton Road, Southampton, pleaded not guilty to speeding.
But during a hearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he was found guilty in his absence.
Magistrates fined him £220, ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and court costs of £620.
Tucker's licence was also endorsed with three points.
