THOUSANDS hit the beach on Saturday as temperatures reached an unseasonal but extremely welcome 23c – but just a day later, Dorset was awash in heavy rain.

Met Office forecasters issued a yellow weather warning for rain on Saturday, and as predicted, there was plenty of it on Sunday.

Now another warning has been issued for tomorrow, Tuesday.

The miserable weather is set to hit between midday and 3pm, according to forecasters.

A spokesperson from the Met Office said bus and train services are likely to be affected, with journey times set to take longer.

Motorists have also been warned of spray and flooding on roads which may make driving more dangerous.

Some homes and businesses could even flood in the predicted deluge, while power supplies could fail if there are lightning strikes.

According to the forecast, it'll be particularly grisly at around 10am.

Keep your fingers crossed, though – the sun could make a reappearance on Wednesday.
