A CYCLIST riding an 'unusual three-wheeler bike' was killed on the A303 yesterday in a collision with a lorry.
Wiltshire Police confirmed its officers were called just after midday to the incident on the westbound carriageway of the major commuter route, just east of the Solstice Park Services.
The cyclist, a 71-year-old man from Amesbury, died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
The cause of the collision is now being investigated.
PC Rich Hatch, from Wiltshire Police's Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We want to hear from anyone who either witnessed the collision or who saw the lorry or the cyclist shortly beforehand.
"The cyclist was riding an unusual three-wheeler bike, which may mean people will have noticed him.
"If you saw something, or you have dash cam footage which could assist, then please call us on 101, quoting reference 54190094473."
As reported, the westbound carriageway was closed for around five hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
