THE chairman of BCP Council donned a hard hat to help break the ground at the latest retirement complex in Poole.
Cllr David Flagg joined McCarthy and Stone’s area sales manager Rebecca Johnson, and assistant site manager Alex MacKenzie to take a closer look at
plans for the development on Lindsay Road, Penn Hill, and mark the start of construction.
Cllr Flagg said: "It was a pleasure to visit the site as construction is just about to get under way. It was a great opportunity to meet the site team, most of whom live in the area and are very conscious of being good neighbours during construction.
"I was pleased to discuss plans for helping those who move into the new homes to integrate into the village community and work with McCarthy and Stone on supporting community projects."
The new development will be made up of a mix of one and two-bed apartments exclusively designed for the over 60s.
Apartments will be available to reserve off plan in early 2020, with first occupations expected in summer 2020.
