A WOMAN stole more than £1,000 worth of designer items and attempted to steal from a Southampton hospital.

Sherrie Leanne Williams went on two shoplifting sprees, in which she targeted Ralph Lauren items.

In one spree, between July 23 and July 29, she committed four thefts, in which she stole £815 of Ralph Lauren items from John Lewis.

In another spree, between September 8 and September 14, she committed three thefts, in which she stole £613 of Ralph Lauren items from John Lewis.

She also trespassed at Southampton General Hospital in a bid to steal on August 5 and assaulted two people in Southampton on August 16.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates’ Court, Williams, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to seven counts of theft.

She also pleaded guilty to two counts of assault, two counts of trespassing with intent to steal and failing to surrender to bail.

Magistrates imposed an 18 month community order with a nine month drug rehabilitation requirement and 30 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.

She was also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
