THE CEO of a Southampton abuse support charity has been recognised at the Women and Home awards.
Chantal Hughes from The Hampton Trust was awarded the Woman and Home Changing Our Country award for her dedication to improving the lives of women and children in the UK.
Nine women were presented awards alongside Chantal by actress Sally Phillips at the ceremony, which took place at London's Claridge's hotel on Tuesday September 24.
The Hampton Trust, based at Ashurst Lodge, supports victims and tackles offenders in abusive relationships by running courses aimed at breaking the cycles of abuse, including the CARA (Conditional Cautioning & Relationship Abuse) initiative that was launched in partnership with Hampshire Constabulary.
Chantal said: “Myself and the team are so honoured to win this award. To be alongside so many women doing amazing things is also such a privilege. The best thing about my job is when our ideas become deliverable interventions and we start to really see a difference.”
