A PENSIONER died at his home after battling an industrial disease, an inquest heard.

Edwin Joseph Riggs died at his address in Ringwood Drive, North Baddesley, in May.

The inquest at Winchester Coroner's Court on Wednesday October 2 heard pathologist Dr Adnan Al-Badri carried out a post mortem on Mr Riggs's body and provided a preliminary cause of death as malignant sarcomatoid mesothelioma of the lung due to exposure to asbestos fibres.
