A WOMAN knocked unconscious when her bike collided with a car has appealed for help to trace a Good Samaritan who came to her aid.

Rosalie Doswell from Hammonds Lane in Totton suffered a broken rib and severe bruising in a collision at Tuckton roundabout in Bournemouth.

She was saved from more serious injury by her cycle helmet which cracked after hitting the road.

Mrs Doswell, 67, was riding her electric bike at about 1.45pm on Saturday September 7 when she collided with a car as she and her husband, Dave, headed back to Meadowbank camp site in Christchurch where they were staying.

As she lay in the road a passer-by covered her with a fleece jacket and Mrs Doswell still has it.

She told the Daily Echo: "I normally get off my bike and walk at roundabouts but I thought it was clear so I decided to ride round it.

"I suddenly realised there was a car there and a second later I was on the ground.

"People came and covered me up and one person put a fleece over me."

Mrs Doswell said emergency services were called and she was taken to Poole Hospital.

"It was only when we got there that we realised we still had the grey, zip-up fleece so I would love to find the owner so I can give it back and say thank you."

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and there is no police investigation.

Mrs Doswell stayed in hospital for one night before being allowed home.

She added: "Someone said they think the owner of the fleece was house-hunting in Tuckton and possibly from the Winchester area. It was very kind of them to do what they did."
