POLICE have launched an appeal to find a missing man from Winchester.
Officers say Dr Peter Betts was last seen in the Compton Down area of the city.
The 76-year-old was last seen at around midday today (14 October).
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: "This is very out of character for Dr Betts, and we are concerned for his welfare.
"Dr Betts is described as; white, around 5ft 11ins tall and was last seen wearing a dark woollen sweater, chequered shirt and pale brown denim jeans.
"If you have seen Dr Betts or know where he may be, please call us on 101, quoting #391."
