STAND-up comedian Shappi Khorsandi returns to Theatre Royal Winchester with brand new jokes and cultural observations on Friday October 25.

Shappi, a graduate in the 1990s of King Alfred’s College, now Winchester University, is now one of British comedy’s most recognisable faces.

Her new show, Skittish Warrior… Confessions of a Club Comic features sharp-tongued gags and other nuggets from her easily distracted mind.

Winner of Best Breakthrough Act at the Chortle Awards, Shappi has sold out venues; performed around the world; even while eight months pregnant.

Now a well-known face on TV comedy shows including 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo, Shappi has also appeared on favourites such as Masterchef and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.

Iranian born, early on in her career she hosted her own radio series that examined what life is like growing up in multi-cultural families.

She continues to be a regular on Radio 4, and as a cultural commentator she features on political debate shows such as Question Time.

Shappi has written for several national newspapers and magazines; reported for BBC South’s Inside Out; and is the best-selling author of A Beginners Guide to Acting English.
