A DRUG driver has lost his licence for 12 months after being caught on the M3.
Strignald Williams, of Itchenside Close in Southampton, appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on October 15 where he admitted one count of drug driving and one count of possessing cannabis.
Williams was caught by officers on the northbound carriageway of the motorway between junction seven and six on April 29, 2019.
Tests showed the 43-year-old had 2.1 micrograms of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol – the primary psychoactive ingredient in cannabis – per litre of blood. The legal limit is two micrograms per litre of blood.
Williams was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £50 costs. He was also fined £50 for the one gram of cannabis he had in his possession.
