1 In the New Forest...

IT’S your last chance to catch this year's New Forest Walking Festival this weekend.

Choose from 80 expert-led walks through beautiful autumn landscapes and the experts will help you discover more about the history, heritage and wildlife of the forest.

The festival includes dozens of behind the scenes family strolls, history hikes, wildlife walks and more.

It has run annually since 2013 and is the perfect opportunity to discover more about the National Park, with guidance from friendly and knowledgeable walk leaders to help walkers of all ages unlock the secrets of the forest.

2 In Beaulieu...

ONE of the largest firework displays in the south is exploding into action on Saturday.

Fireworks Spectacular at Beaulieu is choreographed to music, with a range of entertainment for the whole family.

Be wowed by the magical display set to a top-secret playlist based on the theme, Out of this World, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

Arrive early to enjoy the attractions of Beaulieu, enjoy live entertainment and have fun on old time fairground rides.

3 In Alresford...

JOIN The Watercress Line for a spooky day of magic and mischief this weekend.

Sit in the train carriage that was used in two of the Harry Potter films, be whisked away on the Wizard Express and take unlimited rides throughout the day.

Be brave and encounter hooting owls and creepy crawlies and get dressed up as Harry Potter characters on Kings Cross footbridge used in the films.

Take a ride on the spooky miniature railway, get involved in some Halloween crafts and marvel at haunting magic performances.

4 In Winchester...

EXPLORE, discover and enjoy Winchester this weekend with a self-guided, quirky, heritage walk.

There is an optional treasure hunt – the only question is, are you curious about Winchester?

You'll get everything – detailed directions, maps, clues, and interesting snippets about the history of the city and the people that have shaped it.

Booklets can be booked from the cathedral.

5 In Colden Common...

TAKE the little monsters to Marwell Zoo this weekend as the Halloween activities begin.

Head through the monster trail and track down 12 hidden monsters around the zoo.

Decorate a wand and make your very own monster to take home.

Back by popular demand is the zoo's resident wizard Lowedolf who will be teaching broomstick flying lessons.

6 In Exbury...

EXBURY Garden's creepy characters have risen from their coffins to make sure this year's ghost train is as spooktacular as 2018.

Back due to popular demand, vampire Batty and skeleton Boney will be guiding guests through the gardens on the ghoulish ghost train.

They'll be telling jokes along the way and entertaining visitors with their panto-esc comedy.

Families will encounter werewolves, witches, zombie brides, clowns and all manner of gruesome characters on their journey.

7 In Portsmouth...

DISCOVER the haunted histories and scary stories from Emirates Spinnaker Tower's spooktacular view this weekend.

Look… if you dare, out through the floor to ceiling windows, 100 metres above Portsmouth and learn about the ghosts lingering these historically mysterious streets as you complete your Halloween trail.

Keep an eye out for some chilling locations such as Wymering Manor, Old Portsmouth and the Spice Island Pub for some ghoulish gruesome tales.

8 In Romsey...

THE popular Material World textile exhibition returns again to Sir Harold Hillier Gardens this Saturday.

This annual exhibition displays a wide variety of needlework, embroidery, felting and textile art which are all for sale.

9 In Lepe...

TEST out the Lepe Country Park Half Term Trail – which opens this week.

Pick up a trail card from the reception anytime on each day between 10am to 3pm and return with the correct answers to claim your prize.

It costs £3 per person, and the reception desk closes at 4pm, so be sure to claim your prize before then.

LEARN the tricks of baking with apples this weekend at Winchester City Mill.

This special baking demonstration will combine Winchester City Mill freshly milled wholemeal flour with seasonal products and locally-grown apples to make some delicious treats.

You can taste the results too and take home recipe cards to have a go yourself.
