THIEVES have targeted a handbag left in a parked car this week.
Hampshire police alerted residents to the crime on Wednesday, October 23, after the accessory was stolen at a beauty spot car park at the Watergardens in Longstock, near Stockbridge.
Now a spokesperson from Hampshire police has reminded residents not to leave "items of value" inside vehicles when left unattended.
The spokesperson said: "Thieves are looking for valuable items left on show inside of vehicles and will take the opportunity when they see it.
"It is likely that thieves are driving from one beauty spot car park to another, looking for items to take.
"This leaves the victim with the loss of their items and the inconvenience of arranging repair of a smashed window."
Residents were informed of the theft at approximately 8pm via the Hampshire Alert website.
