A NEW Turkish and Mediterranean-style restaurant could be created in Eastleigh.

Businessman Hasan Yalvac, plans to turn the building at 22 High Street, Eastleigh into a new eatery.

Hasan, who already owns a restaurant in Eastleigh High Street called the Artisan Meze & Wine Bar spoke about why he is expanding his Eastleigh business portfolio.

He said: “I’m local and have been here for many years, I love the Eastleigh community so I want to have another business here.”

The building was previously a sewing centre, but has since closed down, and the new restaurant could open in December.

Hasan added: "While the current restaurant also serves Mediterranean style food, it is more tapas based, with small dishes and grills, but the new one will hopefully have a stone oven to focus on bigger bread based dishes.

"I'm quite a well known businessman in the area and everyone's reactions have been good, people are excited about the potential new restaurant."

The building was previously a sewing centre, but has since closed down, allowing applications to come through to take over the property.

All that remains for the planning permission to be approved is some additional information to be given to Environmental Health regarding the structure of the Stone oven.

If accepted, Hasan intends on having the restaurant open for business towards the end of December.
