FORMER football manager and TV celebrity Harry Redknapp will perform the switch-on of the Fordingbridge Christmas lights this year.
The ceremony will come at the end of an afternoon of activities for all the family on Saturday November 30.
The fun kicks off at 4.15pm with a procession of Trigger the Train followed by Santa on a heavy horse to his grotto at the Avonway Community Centre.
From 4.30pm until 8pm Santa's grotto will be open free of charge and the lights will be switched on at 6.30pm. There will also be street entertainers and live music.
Among the entertainment on offer are face painting, craft activities for children, a tombola, lucky dip, trade stands and performances by students from Fordingbridge Dance Studios.
Nicky Jenkins, chair of Fordingbridge Events Group, said: "The night looks like it will be a tremendous success and we are still planning extra activities. We are thrilled to bits that Harry Redknapp can take time out of his schedule to come and turn the lights on. It’s going to be amazing."
