A SOUTHAMPTON man caught with a mobile phone in prison has been jailed.
Max Craig Alexander was caught with the device inside HMP Pentonville, in London.
The incident took place on February 21 this year.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, Alexander, of Bluebell Road, Bassett, pleaded guilty to possessing a mobile phone inside a prison.
He was jailed for eight weeks.
He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £115, while the phone, a Zanco Wasp, was forfeited and destroyed.
