A PEDESTRIAN was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Fareham.

The crash happened on Highlands Road, near Gudge Heath Lane, around 8.45am today.

Police say the pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.43am to reports of a collision on Highlands Road involving a car and a pedestrian.

"The pedestrian suffered a minor injury and has been taken to hospital."

The road was partially blocked while emergency services carried out their work.
