TWO major Southampton roads were closed overnight due to flooding.

Millbrook Road West was closed in both directions due to water on the road.

The closure, in the early hours of the morning, blocked the road from Regents Park Road to Mountbatten Way.

The road is now open in both directions, but there is a lane closure in place on the outbound carriageway while road cleaning takes place.

Thomas Lewis Way was also closed due to the flooding.

The closure was between Bevois Valley Road and St Denys Road.

It is not yet clear if the road has been reopened.

There were also closures on the Chilworth Roundabout, at its exit onto the A27, while Burgess Road, by the junction of Glen Eyre Road, was also hit by flooding - though traffic was still able to pass.

In September, Millbrook Road West was left looking like a river, with buses, cars and ambulances struggling to get through several inches of floodwater.
