TWO local women are due to appear in a new series that has started on Channel 5 television, called “The World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys”.
The first episode featured an amazing adventure of the Canadian Rockies showing breathtaking landscapes and sceneries.
The second episode went to Spain and travelled from San Felix to Bilboa and on to Ribadeo showing truly wonderful scenes.
This coming week they will be visiting New Zealand, and the following week, Friday November 15, the Wales and the Cambrian Coast Line will be the chosen area.
During the programme Caersws will be featured and two local ladies, Marlis Jones and Delma Thomas, will appear in this episode.
Delma says: "We were asked to appear on the programme to talk about the importance of the station in Caersws and the connection with the Welsh Bard Ceiriog Hughes, who was once a station master at Caersws Station.
"How much of this will be on the actual programme, your guess is as good as mine.
"We spent four hours filming. The crew of two, who were filming, were from London and very pleasant people and we had a super time although quite exhausting!
"We gave them a very warm Welsh welcome, entertaining them to afternoon tea, with Welsh cakes and Bara Brith and even the butter and the tea bags were Welsh!"
