NINTIES boyband East 17 are set to perform at Southampton’s Christmas Lights switch-on tomorrow.

Now a trio, the current line up sees original member Terry Coldwell joined by Robbie Craig and Joe Livermore to perform hits including It’s Alright, House of Love and their Christmas hit Stay Another Day.

Daily Echo:

Terry said: “We can’t wait to join everyone in Southampton this Thursday where we will be performing Stay Another Day in our iconic white parkas!

"While it wasn’t originally intended as a Christmas song, Stay Another Day has since become a much-loved part of the festive celebrations, so it’ll make a great finale to the show.”

Daily Echo:

The performance will round off a packed entertaining evening hosted by Wave 105’s Mark Collins until the switch-on.

Theatre star Darren Day will sing White Christmas and Southampton’s Rock Choir will perform Christmas songs.

There will also be live music from other local artists and community groups including singer Russell Jones and Roaming Street Theatre.

Saints stars old and new will switch on the lights at the event, including iconic former player and manager Lawrie McMenemy MBE.

Daily Echo:

Matt Clemow, CEO of Igloo Energy said: “As a Southampton based energy supplier, the whole team are hugely excited to be sponsoring the Christmas Lights switch-on this year. All year round we are passionate about supporting the local community and economy, while keeping everyone’s homes warm and cosy. We can’t wait to kick-start the festivities and be part of the city’s biggest events.”

Giles Semper, executive director of GO! Southampton, a company said: “With such a great line-up, we predict a fantastic turn out from across the region will want to attend. Therefore, we encourage visitors to give themselves plenty of travelling time to get to the show for its 5pm start.”
