A MAN who stole hundreds of pounds worth of food and drink from Waitrose has been jailed.
Marc Andrew Palmer, 38, stole 27 food items, worth £177, from Waitrose in Southampton on October 29.
He also stole meat items worth £200 from the same store on the same day, as well as used threatening or abusive words or behaviour towards a male victim.
Palmer also stole whiskey, worth £168, from Waitrose on November 2.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, Palmer pleaded guilty to three counts of theft and one count of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour.
He also admitted breaching a suspended sentence order by committing offences while under the order.
Palmer, of no fixed address, was given a 24 week prison sentence and ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge.
