A tough first game for the Blue squad against under 12 division 1 side Bashley Youth, who won promotion last year. With 2 players away, the team only had a eleven players with Kieran Hine filling in at full back for the missing Tom Smith.

Tyro started really well, taking the game to Bashley with Jack Burrows getting a lot of joy down the left wing. With Travis & Caelan dominationg midfield, tyro made their early presure count when a cross from the right went through a crowd of players on the edge of the box and fell to Jack Burrows who opened the scoring for Tyro by calmly slotting the ball past the keeper.

The makeshift Tyro back 4, lead by Captain Alex Duthie, were coping well with any Basley threat leaving Joel with little to do in the Tyro goal in the first half.

Tyro made their dominance count again when Jack got on the end of a cross from the right to fire the ball past the Bashley keeper and make it 2-0 to Tyro.

As the game went on Bashley came into the game more and were rewarded on 35 minutes when Tyro failed to clear and a shot from the right looped into the far corner of the net. There was little that Joel could have done for the goal.

The team responded well to conceeding and after a spell of presure Ollie Lerway picked up the ball on the edge of the box and hit an early shot which produced a fantastic save from the Bashley Keeper, Ollie deserved more from his effort as he worked tirelessly up front all game.

As the game went on Bashley had more of the possetion and made their extra strength, speed and experience tell in the last 15 minutes as Tyro started to tire.

Bashley grabbed an equaliser on 45 minutes and took the lead five minutes later and despite Tyro's effort and determination they counldn't pull back the defecit.

Overall a good performance from the Blue squad in their first competetive game together against a good Bashley side, the effort and commitment of all the lads was excellent.

Well done lads and thanks to Bashley, their players and staff for a great game.
