SWAT: Target Liberty is a tactical shooter that demands the player have their wits about them at all times. It is absolutely necessary to work as a team to ensure the safety of your units and to neutralise the situations that you are presented with. When things go sour, its you they're going to call.
First things first, you will need some basic training, don't worry though, its not too long and tedious. Once you have learnt to apprehend and interrogate suspects, burst through doors using explosives and gassing people out of rooms, you are ready to lead your 3-man SWAT team into some dangerous scenarios.
In SWAT: Target Liberty you will mainly be helping to neutralise situations that occur during a war between 2 Korean gangs and fighting terrorists that plan to devastate New York City.
Before you head out on a mission you are required to choose which kind of specialist you would like on your team, a sniper, an explosives expert or maybe even a negotiations expert.
The problem with this game is the fact that the action can be very slow paced and your units can be a little sluggish at responding to orders. At times even the movement of the characters can be frustratingly slow.
The graphics in SWAT are actually very nice, with some beautifully detailed soundings and some great looking character designs.
The SWAT series has been running for many years now and in those years we have seen some awesome titles released for PC, PS2 and Xbox. Unfortunately the move to a hand held system has not been as smooth as one would hope, the game is a lot more flawed and a lot less interesting than its predecessors were.
