ONE of two animals injured in an accident in the New Forest had to be put down.
The collision occurred on the B3054 Lymington to Beaulieu road - one of the worst routes in the Forest for animal accidents.
A bay mare was injured and had to be humanely destroyed by one of the agisters.
The other pony involved in the incident - a bay gelding - was less seriously hurt.
The Verderers of the New Forest said the accident happened at Crockford Clump last Sunday at 9.20pm.
It was one of only two collisions reported to the Verderers in the week starting November 18.
