Marmaris Grill receives new food hygiene rating

A recent report from environmental health chiefs, who inspected the Marmaris Grill in Chandler’s Ford gave it a score of 4 out of 5.

The most recent inspection of the restaurant premises on November 19 found that hygiene standards were "good".

According to manager Nuri Yalcin, the restaurant is again "up-to-standard" and has put any issues pointed out by health inspectors right.

He reports that the hygiene rating it received was due to previous management.

Mr Yalcin added that Marmaris Grill has since been refurbished and a new kitchen installed.

The eatery has a four and a half out of six-star rating on food delivery website Just East and reports to serve Italian, British, Turkish food.

However, as reported by the Daily Echo, a previous inspection on September 25 found that systems to ensure food is safe to eat and staff know about food safety needed major improvements.

Inspectors discovered the hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling, and storage needed improvement.

Similarly, the cleanliness of the Bournemouth Road premises required improvements.

Commenting about the restaurant on review website TripAdvisor, one customer said: “Was recommended by a neighbour. Ordered a delivery and took over 1.5 hours to arrive. Food was cold and really disappointed.”

Another said: “Just ordered a burger and chips and they managed to take an hour and a half to deliver this when it said 40 mins, thought I’d give them a go but after this will only ever be recommending adore, were kind enough to give me an extra chips for the wait but they got all the condiments in the burger wrong as well and chips.”

According to Eastleigh Borough Council, the authority had been working with the business to rectify the issues that have been previously identified.

The council was reportedly very pleased with the restaurant's progress and "significant improvements".
