A MAN is being treated for serious injuries after trespassing on the railway lines in Winchester.
British Transport Police were called at 7.20pm last night (Monday) and were on the scene at Winchester train station.
Paramedics and police were also called to the area.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the lines in Winchester at 7.20pm last night following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended and a man was taken to hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
All lines were blocked while emergency services were on the tracks and the power was switched off while investigations were carried out.
It is understood that passengers were evacuated from the station as the incident was dealt with.
Lines were reopened shortly before 9pm, with disruption continuing until 11pm as services were cancelled, delayed or revised.
