CORONATION Street star Shobna Gulati and Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson have joined the cast of smash hit musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie, which visits Mayflower Theatre in 2020.

The pair will join a star-studded cast for the acclaimed musical, which already includes comedian, TV presenter and Eastenders star Shane Richie and Layton Williams (Bad Education, Beautiful People, Billy Elliot the Musical) both reprising their celebrated West End roles.

Shobna Gulati, who is also well down for Dinnerladies on TV, Everyone's Talking About Jamie in the West End and set to star in the upcoming film of the show, will play Ray and George Sampson, the street dancer who won the second series of Britain's Got Talent in 2008 at the age of 14, appears as Dean.

Jamie New is sixteen and lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Jamie doesn’t quite fit in. Jamie is terrified about the future. Jamie is going to be a sensation. Supported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.

With catchy songs by lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling, Dan Gillespie Sells, and book and lyrics by writer Tom MacRae, this funny, fabulous, feel-good, musical sensation has been wowing audiences and critics alike during its successful London run.

The Everybody’s Talking About Jamie film will be released in cinemas in October 2020.

The 2020 UK tour of the show visits Southampton from May 12 to 16 next year.
