A “TRULY lovely bloke” from Totton died by suicide, an inquest heard.
Martin Phillips, 52, known by most as ‘Wiggy’, was found hanging in the garage at his Bartram Road home on August 17.
The court heard how he had suffered from migraines since his 20s. The most recent migraine before his death was thought to have lasted weeks.
The final time Mr Phillips saw his brother Colin was days before his death when they went mountain bike riding together.
Colin said: “I lived locally to him and we socialised every week. He was always so considerate and we had such fun together.”
Estella Howarth, who knew Mr Phillips for around 20 years described him as a “truly lovely bloke” and said: “We all miss him greatly, friends and family.”
Assistant coroner Simon Burge concluded death by suicide.
