A WOMAN was rushed to hospital after colliding with a car in Southampton last night.

Firefighters from St Mary's were alerted to the crash between the Fiat 500, which overturned, and a Mini at approximately 6.21pm in Thomas Lewis Way. 

The woman was handed over to South Central Ambulance Service.

A passenger in the Mini sustained minor injuries and the stop call came in at 18.54pm. 

A spokesperson from South Central Ambulance Service said: "We received a 999 call at 18:16 with the caller reporting a two car collision on Thomas Lewis Way, resulting in one of the vehicles involved ending up on its side.

"We sent a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance to the incident; three people in total were involved.

"One was uninjured and did not require any treatment; two others had sustained minor injuries and were taken to University Hospital Southampton."
