A SHOPKEEPER has told of the moment a teenager came into his shop "bleeding everywhere" after being injured in an incident near a Southampton school.

Steve Siva, owner of Bob and Paula's Store on Valentine Avenue, was working in the shop when the boy burst into his store with a cut to his hand.

The boy then asked Mr Siva to call the police.

"Shocked" Mr Siva, said: "He just came in and he was bleeding everywhere, there was blood on the shop door.

"I phoned the police and when they arrived, I had to close the shop for more than two hours while they collected forensic evidence."

Police were called to the store, which is near to Valentine School, around 8.34am today after a teenage boy entered the shop with a cut on his hand and asked the owner to contact the emergency services.

The boy received minor injuries and left the store a short while later.

Police arrived at the scene and carried out enquiries in the area.

A 24-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of a class B drug.

A 17-year-old boy from Hamble has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and assault on an emergency worker.

The Echo contacted Valentine School but a staff member said the school was not aware of any incident.
