THRILL-SEEKERS of Southampton can take part in the world's biggest obstacle course which returns to the city in the summer.

The Gung Ho! 5k obstacle course returns to Southampton Common for its fifth successive year on June 20 for those willing to take up the challenge.

The course is made up of giant inflatables that wouldn't look out of place in TV game shows like Total Wipeout, It's a Knockout or Takeshi's Castle.

Competitors can expect a five storey tall slide, spikey balls and a four metre high wall amongst other testing obstacles.

Event director Alan Brown said:

"We love coming to Southampton, which was at the top of list of places to go back to in 2020.

"It also has huge appeal as it's not a race, which does make a huge difference if you're a first timer.

"Gung Ho! is the perfect event for people of all ages, size and fitness to find their inner ‘Gung Ho!' and have an amazing day out."

Gung Ho! contains no water obstacles and is not a timed course.

The event is perfect for fundraising with more than £1,000,000 being raised for good causes so far.

Gung Ho! has also raised hundreds of thousands pounds for their partnered charity Children in Need.

This year, more than 25,000 entrants are expected to take part at Gung Ho! events across the UK and 250,000 have already tackled the course nationwide over the last five years.

The event is family friendly but runners must be at least 4ft tall.

Early bird entry is now open until January 6 with tickets being sold at a discounted price of £27.

Entrants will receive a t-shirt, race number, wrist band and a head band.
