A TEENAGER who assaulted a man while under the influence of drink and drugs has been given a suspended sentence.

James Andrew Watson, 19, assaulted his victim in Fareham on November 13.

Portsmouth Magistrates' Court heard how the assault involved the use of Watson's foot and took place while he was under the influence of drink and drugs.

Watson, of Orpine Close, Fareham, pleaded guilty to one count of assault.

He also admitted breaching a community order set by Portsmouth Magistrates' Court in July.

Watson was sentenced to a nine week prison sentence, which was suspended for two years.

He was also ordered to complete a 21 day accredited programme with the probation service and complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.

Watson was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £122.
