FANATICS of the popular ITV drama Downton Abbey can look forward to an upcoming afternoon tea and quiz.

Breast Cancer Haven Wessex are hosting the event at the Mercure Dolphin Hotel, Southampton, which will also involve include a raffle, a bring-a-book sale, and a competition to guess the weight of a cake.

It will be based entirely on the 20th century-based series, which sees Robert Crawley risk losing a family estate after his heirs die in the Titanic.

All funds raised will go towards the running of the charity centre, which provided support for 478 local people affected by breast cancer last year.

It is the second annual event of its kind following a successful first event last year, which raised enough money for two people to go through Breast Cancer Haven’s personalised programme of support.

Kelle Russell, events fundraiser at Breast Cancer Haven said: “We are so pleased to be returning to such a lovely venue again this year. Tickets to this event would make a great gift for a loved one or a fantastic day out for your friends.

"We can’t provide the vital support needed by those affected by breast cancer without events like these and we’d love to see as many people there as possible.”

It takes place on January 26 from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, and each ticket costs £23.
