THIS old postcard shows the busy waterfront scene at Lymington, including a paddle steamer in the harbour, and is believed to date from 1910.
Not only is it a fascinating glimpse ofthe town’s past but the message written on the back of the postcard is intriguing to say the least.
Posted in Lymington and addressed to a Mrs Booth at 47, Cossack Street, Kingland, Southampton, the postcard message says: “My dear old friend, I am sending you this to let you no (sic) that Bill Bailey is not dead yet so don’t be down hearted about him.
"Cheer up.
"From Alice"
