A NEW bakery will be opening in Romsey next week in order for its owner to keep up with demand.

The 108 The Bakery will be opening at Basepoint, Romsey by Liz Trueman who usually bakes from her kitchen.

She now is opening the bakery to bake her bread, sourdough sweet treats and more from a premises in Romsey to keep up with customers.

She said: "I've been running the bakery for a year from my home kitchen but the demand has grown so much that I had to find premises in order to keep up with demand.

"I make sourdough bread from local organic flour and salt produced on the Jurassic coast. I supply a few local shops and pubs as well as Romsey Country Market and sell direct to customers too."

On Thursday, January 16, 108 The Bakery will be holding its private opening event between 6pm and 8pm.

Chefs will be making canapes from Liz's bread and wine and beer will also be on offer.

The bakery will open its doors on Saturday, January 18 to the public.

It will be located at Basepoint, Abbey Park Industrial Estate, Romsey opposite SO51 Fitness and Lemon and Jinja.
