HAMPSHIRE motorists are being warned of plans for traffic restrictions across the county.

The new traffic restrictions would affect roads in Bishopstoke, Chandler’s Ford, Fair Oak, Hiltingbury and Horton Heath.

It is hoped the work will reduce danger to motorists and pedestrians, improve traffic flow and amenities.

In Bishopstoke, Eastleigh Borough Council proposes to introduce “no waiting at any time” restrictions in: Asford Grove, Spring Lane, Church Close, Church Road, Hardings Lane, Lynx Close, St Austell Close, Stag Close and Truro Rise.

It proposes a “no waiting Monday to Friday 8am to 12 noon” restriction in Riverside as well as a “parking for two hours, no return within two hours Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm” restriction in Fair Oak Road in the layby outside the “Welcome” store.

The council wants to introduce “parking for three hours, no return within four hours Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm” restrictions in Church Road and Riverside.

In Elland Close, it plans to change the operating time and extent of the “school keep clear” zigzag marking south of its junction with Selhurst Way.

Meanwhile in Noyce Drive, The council plans to create a “No waiting on verge at any time” restriction.

In Chandler’s Ford “no waiting at any time” restrictions would be created in Avonbourne Way, Cranford Gardens, Hiltingbury Road, North Millers Dale, Peverells Wood Avenue, South Millers Dale and The Deanery.

Furthermore, “no waiting on verges at any time” restrictions would be introduced in Hiltingbury Road, Oakmount Road and Richmond Close. As reported previously Southampton motorists can expect to face traffic chaos until March due to two major road projects.

The city council will start “essential maintenance” at Chilworth Roundabout this month. Meanwhile, work to provide new cycle facilities on The Avenue between Lodge Road and Banister Road will restart following a Christmas break.

The £800,000 Chilworth scheme, includes resurfacing, kerbing and updates to the roundabout’s drainage and is expected to be finished by March. A new bus shelter and improved kerb alignment will allow buses to pull in closer to the stop on the roundabout.

The cycleway between the northern end of Bassett Avenue and Chilworth Road will be revamped connecting the Northern Cycle Corridor and the new cycleway to Bournemouth Road.
