A ROMSEY school has announced their headteacher is retiring after seven years at the helm.

The Romsey School, has announced their head teacher, Colm McKavanagh, has decided to retire at the end of the current academic year, in August.

He has spent more than seven years at the school.

The Chair of the Board of Trustees, Judith Houghton, said: “May I take this opportunity to thank MrMcKavanagh for his excellent leadership during his tenure which has seen improved academic standards, excellent Ofsted reports and the rise in popularity of the school with both parents and the community.”

The Board of Trustees have already begun the nationwide search to find a replacement and we are aiming to hold interviews in March with an announcement soon after.

This will enable a smooth transition ready for the start of term in September 2020.

The Romsey School plans to announce more at the end of the term.
